John Morrell & Co. was founded in England in 1827 and is the oldest continuously
operating meat manufacturer in the United States. It enjoys annual sales of approximately
$2 billion. Serving the retail, foodservice, and deli channels,
primary product lines include smoked sausages, hot dogs, natural smoked hams, bacon,
deli meats, corned beef, and fresh pork products. The company sells products under
the flagship John Morrell brand and more than a half-dozen others. Its celebrated
Kretschmar brand offers a full line of German-style favorites for the service deli,
including hams, turkey, cooked beef, sticks and loaves. John Morrell & Co. is also
one of the nation's largest producers of private-label packaged meats.
